Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller

The data controller is the operator of the beauty-booking platform. Contact email: info@beautybook.sk.

2. What Data We Collect

  • Account data: name, email address, profile photo (obtained via Clerk on Google or email sign-up).
  • Booking data: selected business, service, time, booking status.
  • Payment data: processed exclusively via Stripe — we do not store card numbers or banking details.
  • Business content: photos and descriptions uploaded by business admins (stored in Cloudinary).
  • Technical data: IP address (for rate limiting via Upstash Redis), session cookies.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Creating and managing appointments.
  • Sending confirmation and reminder emails (via Resend).
  • Processing payments and managing subscriptions.
  • Protecting the platform from abuse (rate limiting).
  • Improving the product based on aggregated analytics.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with the following providers to operate the platform:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Stripe — payment processing (test mode).
  • Cloudinary — image storage and optimisation.
  • Mapbox — maps display and geocoding.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Upstash Redis — IP-level rate limiting.
  • Neon (PostgreSQL) — database hosting.

Each provider maintains its own GDPR-compliant privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain data for the duration of your account and as long as legally required after deletion (e.g. payment records for tax purposes). We can delete data earlier upon request unless prohibited by law.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

  • Access: you have the right to know what data we hold about you.
  • Correction: you may request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: you may request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten).
  • Portability: you may request an export of your data.
  • Objection: you may object to processing based on legitimate interest.
